* During our summer services, we have been delighted by a number of volunteer guest musicians. The congregation expresses their great appreciation to Connie Hart, Earl Levine, Dorothy Hartley, Bill Mader, Dan Gribbin, Gaia Davies, Jack Moeller and Debra Hanson. Please forgive if any volunteers were left off this list.
* Our minister, Bud Murphy has been away on sabbatical leave. 9/6/2010 we welcome him back to our pulpit.
* We serve and sell Fair Trade Organic coffee every Sunday morning. It gives us a chance to live our values. Fair Trade guarantees a living wage to those who grow our coffee. What a wonderful way to promote the dignity and worth of these individuals while protecting the interdependent web of existence by not using harmful chemicals. Enjoy our coffee and be sure to stop by the Fair Trade corner.
* We can help the people of Pakistan recover from the recent unfathomable flood disaster by giving to the UU Service Committee (UUSC)-UUA Joint Pakistan Flood Relief Fund.
Donations to the UUSC-UUA Joint Pakistan Flood Relief Fund will be put to immediate use, since UUSC already has partner organizations in the region. Bedari, which worked with UUSC in the 2005 South Asia earthquake, is working to protect women and children displaced by the floods. Barakat, a UUSC partner in Afghanistan that also works in Pakistan, is helping refugee families who have fled to the district of Attock. You can give through our society office or directly with links which will be included in our Jotter emailing.
* SURVEY: Please fill out the survey you have been sent by email or on the information table in the Sanctuary in order to be part of our efforts to become a more effective UU for ourselves and in our community. Return your surveys to the box near the surveys. We want your input! Social Justice in Action Committee
* The Reconciliation Team
To have disagreement is natural among human beings. In our UU any dispute needs to be handled in a way that does not embitter anyone, seeks to accommodate the individual concerns, yet does not allow majority rights to be ignored. Confidentiality is assured.
Louise Baker, Ed Flanagan, Allen Gilbert, Rindy Nyberg, Dick Peppers, Lani Van Petten, Vera Theisen.
* Our minister, Bud Murphy has been away on sabbatical leave. Next Sunday we welcome him back to our pulpit.
