DATE CHANGE to JUNE 11th DUE to WEATHER Dear All,
In response to the tragic events in Minneapolis a little over a week ago, several organizations including Daytona Beach Black Clergy Association, F.A.I.T.H., and the Daytona Beach Police Department are sponsoring a peaceful protest Thursday evening, June 11 at City Island Park. I have been invited to speak at the event.
I invite all who are inspired to attend HOWEVER, not everyone is made for the frontline. In other words, DO NOT attend if you are at risk by contracting Covid-19. I know I don't have to say this to you - you all take good care of yourselves. In addition, it is planned for attendees to march from City Island to City Hall, so if you cannot manage that walk, please stay home. I know you all will be there with me in spirit.
If you do decide to attend, please wear a mask and bring a water bottle and hand sanitizer. Please also wear your yellow Side with Love t-shirt if you have one. I will be speaking at City Hall. The event flyer is attached.
If you have questions or comments, please let me know.
Be well and stay well,
Rev Kathy

Indian Cooking Class!
One of our members, Sunanda Sanghi, and Padmini Prasad, one of our friends, demonstrated how to cook an authentic Indian vegetarian dish in our UU kitchen. Both women were born and grew up in India but both have lived in the USA for many years. They respect the wonderful culinary traditions of their heritage and shared them – the fragrant spices used in cooking and where to buy the products. They also shared information about their cultural heritage which you will see in the slide show below.
Their spouses helped celebrate the event which culminated with a delicious dinner shared by all. Many thanks to Sunanda and Padmani
